After following her passion of drama, Jess Shaw studied drama at the University of East Anglia before a placement in Ghana changed her outlook on how we could use drama to benefit connection and communities.
In conversation with today’s host, Carmen Rendell, you’ll get beautiful insights into her own business, PACT (Play, Act, Create and Transform) Creative Training for 9 years which delivers play-based workshops for companies, schools and adult groups focused on staff wellbeing and team building around London and beyond.
It’s another fascinating and often undervalued aspect of our culture here in the West and our ability to play. To express ourselves in a silly or often child like way. Why is that? Well hold that thought and listen to our conversation as we explore our humanness and playfulness. And just to inspire you, here’s a snapshot of something which stood out for us in the conversation in relation to the work Jess does…
“Let the play do the work.
I think it’s the joyfulness. It’s accessing that humour and laughter. Sometimes I do a guided meditation afterwards to look at where we hold joy in the body. To remember it’s always there and accessible”
